Wrinkle Softening & Botox

Wrinkle Softening & Botox

Wrinkle Softening & Botox

Wrinkle softening is a very safe and effective way of reversing the signs of ageing. Botox works by relaxing your facial muscles, which is why I start your treatment with a thorough analysis of muscle activity in your face. This enables me to determine the exact amount of Botox required, and the optimum points to apply it. Botox is only applied to the areas where it’s needed, using a very small, fine needle. The process may be mildly uncomfortable for a few moments, but it isn’t painful.

From your first treatment, Botox gently softens and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Without affecting your normal facial expressions, it leaves you looking healthier and rejuvenated.

The number of treatments required will depend on the condition of your skin and the results you would like to achieve. Your skin will look smoother from your first treatment, although the results may not be visible until 2 to 3 days afterwards. Once achieved, the miracle effects of Botox™ can last up to 4 months, and can be easily maintained with simple ‘top up’ treatments.

*Please note that prior to administration a consultation would be required with me to determine suitability. We will discuss treatment options that will encompass the problems and specific areas of concern you may have.

GLABELLAR LINES

GLABELLAR LINES

GLABELLAR LINES

WHAT ARE GLABELLAR LINES?

Glabellar lines are wrinkles that appear between the eyebrows. They are often referred to as ‘frown lines’ as frowning makes their appearance more prevalent. Frowning is often associated with negative emotions such as anger, tiredness, disappointment and frustration.

TREATING GLABELLAR LINES WITH BOTOX:

The Glabellar is usually the first region to be treated with Botox . The aim of the treatment is to reduce the vertical as well as the horizontal lines of the Glabellar. It helps elevate the brow, soften the lines and create a more positive, relaxed appearance.

Botox  responds very well on dynamic front wrinkles and I always advise my patients to start treating this area as early as possible to avoid getting static creases over time. When it is the case, a combination treatment using Botox and Dermal Fillers will be necessary and will provide some great results.

I also like to combine treatment of the Glabellar and the forehead area to get the best synergy and results.

Forehead lines

Forehead lines

Forehead lines

WHAT ARE FOREHEAD LINES?

Forehead lines are associated with the action of raising one’s eyebrows. The frontalis muscles of the forehead contract in an upward direction causing the skin to crease. Forehead lines become more prevalent with age and can age the facial appearance.

TREATING FOREHEAD LINES WITH BOTOX:

Botulinum toxin is used in the frontalis muscle and helps to smooth the forehead which reduces the appearance of horizontal lines. Botox Treatment can also be tailored to elevate the lateral part of the eyebrow helping to lift it. For heavy eyebrows, a combination treatment using botox and dermal fillers or threads provides great results.

When treating the forehead and Glabellar area, my recommendation is to treat these at the same time as treating crows feet. I call this my ‘3 botox areas’ as this gives the best result as I have tailored my treatment using the synergy of these muscles to achieve the most natural result.

CROWS FEET

CROWS FEET

CROWS FEET

WHAT ARE CROWS FEET?

Crows feet are a series of upper facial lines or wrinkles that appear around the outside of the eyes and are associated with squinting.

TREATING CROW’S FEET LINES WITH BOTOX:

Do these lines appear only when smiling, laughing and squinting or are they present even without any active movement?

In the first case, the lines are dynamic wrinkles, they can be treated effectively and quickly with botox anti-wrinkle treatments.

In the second case, a combination of treatments using Botox™  and dermal fillers will be necessary.

The best and the most natural result is achieved when treating crow’s feet together with the other areas of the upper face.

WHAT ARE BUNNY LINES?

Bunny lines are diagonal lines that appears on either side of the nose when smiling. They may also arise due to the compensatory movement after the frown area has been treated with Botox.

TREATING BUNNY LINES WITH BOTOX:

Bunny lines can be treated with small doses of Botox on the lateral areas of the nose. If you are having the frown area treated and appear to developing these lines, I may recommend also treating this area.

LOWER EYELID LINES

WHAT ARE LOWER EYELIDS LINES?

The lower eye lid wrinkles are creases which appear under the eyes and can project a look of tiredness.

TREATING LOWER EYELIDS LINES WITH BOTOX:

I prefer to use fillers to treat this area as it gives an instant and better result compared to Botox™ . However, this treatment is not recommended for patients with reduced skin elasticity or those who have had previous eyelid surgery or resurfacing. In some cases, I like to do a small injection just to help open the eye.

EYEBROW LIFT

EYEBROW LIFT

WHAT IS AN EYEBROW LIFT?

An Eyebrow lift is an advanced non-surgical, cosmetic procedure that raises the position of the eyebrow. A gently arched eyebrow conveys an attractive, youthful, happy and confident individual and is more a female than a male request.

USING BOTOX FOR AN EYEBROW LIFT

Treatments can be performed with Botox . Depending the desired shape of the brow, a small dose of botulinum toxin can be injected to elevate and promote lateral eyebrow lifting or elevate the intermediate or medial part of the eyebrow.

The best result is achieved when treating the eyebrow lift together with the other areas of the upper face. In cases of heavy eyebrows, the use of dermal fillers or threads may be necessary to get a complete and effective result.

GUMMY SMILE

GUMMY SMILE

WHAT IS A GUMMY SMILE?

This is an excessive gingival display of the upper gum when someone is smiling. Patients are often embarrassed of their appearance and reluctant to smile.

USING BOTOX TO TREAT A GUMMY SMILE

It is very important to correctly assess patients with a gummy smile and identify the cause of this condition prior to injecting with Botox . Combining both knowledge in Orthodontics and non-surgical aesthetic procedures give me the advantage to advise patients precisely. According to the cause of the gummy smile, sometimes, it is important to move the teeth into a more suitable position prior to injecting Botulinum toxin.

CHIN DIMPLING

CHIN DIMPLING

CHIN DIMPLING

WHAT IS CHIN DIMPLING?

A lot of dimpling is caused by a hyperactive mentalis muscle. The contracting of this muscle causes the appearance of dimples or creases.

TREATING CHIN DIMPLING WITH BOTOX:

Treatment with Botox  is relatively quick with just one or two injections. The muscle is relaxed but not frozen, so this softens any dimpling or creases.

It is important to note that some chin dimpling can be the result of acne scarring, which is best treated with dermal fillers. In some patients, a combination of dermal fillers and botox provides optimal results.

MARIONETTE LINES

MARIONETTE LINES

MARIONETTE LINES

WHAT ARE MARIONETTE LINES?

Marionette lines (mouth lines) are facial lines or folds that extend roughly from the corners of the mouth downwards. Depending on the individual, mouth lines may also appear as an extension to nasolabial folds giving a sad facial expression.

TREATING MARIONETTE LINES WITH BOTOX

A small, carefully positioned injection of Botox™ can weaken the muscle responsible for pulling down the corners of the mouth. When this muscle has relaxed it allows the levator muscles of mouth to help lift the corners.

For deeper lines, dermal fillers will be required and can be used in conjunction with Botox.

The traditional approach to using dermal filler is that fillers are injected directly in the area of concern that the patient points out, for example, the marionette lines.

With the MD codes technique, after analysis, the filler might not be injected into the area of concern, but into the source of the issue along with being treated holistically to get a much more effective and natural result.

Instead of treating the problem area, this technique focuses on treating the cause of the issue.

JAWLINE REDUCTION & MASSETER HYPERTROPHY

JAWLINE REDUCTION & MASSETER HYPERTROPHY

JAWLINE REDUCTION & MASSETER HYPERTROPHY

WHAT IS JAWLINE REDUCTION & MASSETER HYPERTROPHY?

The masseter muscle is the muscle in the jaw responsible for the chewing process. A wide jawline may be due to genetics but often it is due to a strong muscle activity (chewing or grinding teeth) causing a person to have a large, square-shaped jaw.

USING BOTOX FOR JAWLINE REDUCTION AND BRUXISM TREATMENT

Patients suffering from Bruxism or looking to slim their jawline for a more oval shape without undergoing a surgical procedure can actually have  Botox injected into the masseter muscle to minimise the square-like appearance.

When Botox is injected into the masseter muscle, it causes the muscle to weaken and shrink slightly. It gradually begins to slim after a couple of weeks, with the full effect visible after three months.
