With summer at our doorsteps, there are increasingly high chances that we don’t take care of our hair the way we should. For that reason, make sure you follow these useful haircare tips on how to get them healthy!

  1. Avoid the risks of Sun damage to your hair: 

It is important to wear a protection hat whilst under the sun, as too much sun can cause your hair to dry and create splits very easily. Blondes and people with grey hairs are also more vulnerable and that’s why you should also opt got hair care products with sunscreen in them!

2. Your diet is very important, make sure to eat healthy: 

There are certain foods that will aid in healthy hair. These are salmon and walnuts which contain omega-3. Also, vitamin A is very important and you can opt for spinach and carrots for that healthy summer juice! Make sure , as a hair care routine, you get the right amount of zinc in your system, as well as low-fat dairy, whole grains and vegetables that you need. All the above aids in better health of your hair and scalp.

3. Avoid pulling on your hair too much, this can cause Alopecia damages:  

Pulling on your hair too tight by tying it up in a ponytail or other hairstyles can damage your hair follicles and cause your hair to break and fall out. Make sure you ease up on elastic hair ties and opt for headbands and scrunchies to put your hair back. Tight ponytails and buns are nice, but your hair will see the damage in the long run if it is continuously reoccurring.

4. Less is more to avoid weakening your hair !

Protecting the Hair cuticle ( outer layer ) is essential to avoid dry and dull hair.

Blow drying, using a flat iron, colouring, bleaching, even over-brushing cause damage to your hair when done in excess or too regularly.

When it comes to your hair, doing less leads to healthier tresses.

5Some medications have surprising side effects: 

Some medications have been discovered to list hair loss as a side effect. These medications are anti clotting drugs, cholesterol-lowering drugs, antidepressants, non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and drugs for menopause, birth control, and antibiotics. It is said that usually, hair grows back when the medication is stopped, but this is something you might want to be aware of before consumption of some medications.

6. Scalp massages can have a positive effect for your hair: 

This hasn’t been scientific research to prove that scalp massages increases hair growth or scalp conditions, but what it can do is relieve you from stress. Which on its own is good for you, as you can release tensions and release feel-good hormones like dopamine and serotonin. That being the case, we are definitely on our way to a more positive result!

7Get a haircut every 6 to 8 weeks: 

By cutting your hair on a regular basis, you are getting rid of those split ends. This is a good thing to prevent the split of travelling up the rest of the strand of your hair. It will help you maintain and healthy look and shiny hair.

8It is best to deep condition your hair once a week: 

Deep conditioning once a week is an excellent way to maintain  a good hair care for beautiful and shiny hair. There are homemade alternatives to the options you find at the store which are very good. If you want to add moisture and softness to your hair, use deep conditioners that have cetyl, stearyl, and cetearyl. If you want to strengthen your hair, use ingredients such as keratin, amino acids, hydrolysed proteins, and henna. And finally, give your hair time, 5 to 20 minutes, to absorb the nutrients and hydration properties of the conditioner
