NASOLABIAL FOLDS AND HOW I CAN YOU GET RID OF THEM!

Nasolabial folds evolve as we age, as a result of bone loss in our body. This ends up by giving our face a more deepening look. As our bones shrink, particularly in the mid-facial region ,our skin tissue sinks into our face with it and we are unable to keep a plump and young look anymore!

Loss of fat from various fat compartments (cheeks, temples, lips and chin) is as well a component of face ageing to take in consideration, accentuated as well by the loss of elasticity of the soft tissues.

As the area of our face moves downwards, they end up creating a fold called NasoLabial Folds or smile lines.

What is your options for improving nasolabial folds?

The origin of the smile lines most of the time find its source in the loss of cheek volume.

At the London Facial Care, I  seek to address Nasolabial wrinkles very carefully. Injecting directly into the smile lines is not always the best solution for older patients as it can give a frozen and ‘fake’ look. Instead, I seek to create a perfect synergy in the face, by restoring volume to the cheeks to maintain a natural and healthy look. For some of the patients it will be necessary as well to inject the temples area.

Hence, nasolabial fold surgery can be avoided.

Like sculptors, restoring volume which were existing earlier in life is essential as a 1st step before injecting more superficially into the nasolabial folds.

I like to inject in a “layered” technique, using products like Voluma by Juvederm or RHA4 by Teosyal in the deeper layers. Also, Volbella by Juvederm or RHA 3 from Teosyal can be used more superficially to get a beautiful, natural and smooth result, to keep you fresh and stunning!
