Both men and women can make excellent candidates for lip enhancement. With a tailored approach needed to suit every individual’s unique anatomy, there is no right or wrong answer in what product or which technique is best for lip augmentation treatment.

I like both Juvederm and Teosyal products creating soft, natural-looking results. Each of them is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to provide the desired results safely.

I aim to provide my patients with sensual and juicy lips, while still maintaining the look very natural. There is a fine line between fake and natural lips, I offer subtle changes in a few sessions over several appointments, to ensure no drastic alterations to the appearance while it is improved.

I love to use Juvederm Volift to add shape to thin or asymmetrical lips immediately. Volift can create instant plump lips that remain soft to the touch. Juvederm Volift contains short and long-chain hyaluronic acid so that it can enhance cross-linking with increasing stiffness. Being a soft product, the results usually last 12 months before the need for re-injection, and my patients love it!

Volbella is ideal for giving a slight and subtle lip enhancement when the patient just needs a little boost on the lips and successfully smooth, delicate lip lines. The benefits of one Volbella session will last from four to six months.

Another one of my favorite fillers is also TEOSYAL RHA! Providing a more resilient hyaluronic acid, this effective gel has a heightened strength and resilience capacity! RHA fillers are unique, as they mimic the natural hyaluronic acid long chains. RHA fillers have more dynamic properties than other fillers, which is ideal for the mobile area of the face. For lips enhancement, I like to combine the use of RHA 2 and RHA3 to get the best result!

By adapting to your facial movements, RHA filler is a very malleable and adaptable product. RHA 2 is mainly used for lip augmentation treatment, as it can merge with the soft tissue very well. Volume is given by treating the bulk area and the edge of the lips. Amazingly, RHA 2 can also be used to solve fine wrinkles on your neck and décolleté.

While RHA 2 is used for a more subtle appearance and natural look, RHA 3 can also be used to give a ‘fuller’ and more ‘pouty’ look. It is all up to the desires of patients, and the extent that they want their lips more significant or not. TEOSYAL RHA also results usually last for 12 months before the need to re-apply it again.

And the question that haunts us all: is lip augmentation painful? With me, I make sure to minimize pain as much as I can for my patients.  A topical numbing cream is applied before the filler injections.

Also, I prefer the use of microcannulas over needles and use them 95 percent of the time with my patients. I use a cannula, a blunt needle to make the process less risky of bruising, with the treatment lasting 30 to 45 minutes. I usually inject 0.5ml to 1ml of filler for a natural look, but we can also use up to 2ml of fillers, depending on how full my patients want their lips to be!
The results are immediate.

Some patients might experience swelling for the first couple of days. Your lips will usually settle, and the final result is always visible after two weeks of having the treatment!
