LIP FILLERS LONDON

LIP FILLERS LONDON

LIP FILLERS LONDON

Lip Fillers are a staple of the cosmetic industry and the London Facial Care, providing a quick and easy way to add extra volume and shape to lips. As thinning lips become a common reality as we get older, the safe and effective anti ageing treatment of lip enhancement has become increasingly popular.

The best way to give lips a fuller, plumper appearance – and hence a more attractive, youthful appearance – is to restore lost volume and moisture with lip fillers that contain the body’s own natural material, hyaluronic acid. Lip fillers are the most common form of treatment to subtly smooth fine lines around the mouth.

With many now wanting to enhance their lips and lip outline, topical filler is an incredibly easy and practically pain-free remedy for lips lacking a little emphasis. We help patients achieve perfect, full lips by adding shape, volume and dimension to the top lip, bottom lip or philtrum, ensuring you leave with a smile you can be proud of.

Rather than complex medical or surgical procedures, lip fillers at our London clinic allow for immediate results. Our injections use hyaluronic acid to help retain moisture and therefore bring natural health to the skin long after you have left the clinic.

Who is eligible for Lip Fillers?

It is ideal for people who want fuller lips or who have developed lines around the top and bottom of the mouth. The demand for men’s lip fillers increases by the year, and we offer lip enhancement treatments for men that take into account men don’t want a dramatic change or the plump soft lips that are more becoming to the female face.

HOW DO LIP FILLERS WORK ?

HOW DO LIP FILLERS WORK ?

HOW DO LIP FILLERS WORK ?

How do Lip Fillers work?

Lip fillers are injected into the lip in the form of a vial. A vial is simply a measurement of injectable liquid administered during the treatment. Typically a lip filler treatment would require one or two vials, depending on the effect that needs to be created. We use several brands including Juvéderm dermal fillers as lip fillers to create volume, re-contour or add definition to the lips. Juvederm contains Hyaluronic acid, a substance which naturally occurs in the body and so it’s completely safe to use.

Our temporary fillers are injected in small controlled doses just under the surface of the area to be treated. This fills out the sunken areas and lines to give a smoother, firmer and more refreshed appearance.

Does the Lip Filler procedure hurt?

Lip fillers require no cuts, incisions or stitches to be made, although the procedure may involve some light pain or discomfort. We use a numbing cream on the area and let it sit for 45 minutes to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible. Depending on the area being treated, the treatment usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, and patients describe it as a tiny scratch as the needle goes in, with a slight stinging sensation as the filler is applied.

YOUR LIP FILLER CONSULTATION

Your Lip Filler consultation

It’s important to us that you achieve the results you want, and we believe this starts with a great consultation. You will never be rushed and our highly trained practitioner, Dr Fern Jean-Joseph will take the time to discuss aspects of your skin you may be unhappy with, your desired results, costs and timings.

Modern skin and lip care takes into account the whole face, not just the specific areas where there may be wrinkles. This holistic approach to giving you natural and attractive lips, known as myomodulation, is much more effective and long lasting. To achieve these improved results, careful analysis is made of your facial structure and ‘key areas’ where injection of filler will have the most significant effect.

Depending on the elasticity of you skin and health of underlying tissue, myomodulation gives support to these structures and promotes lifting of the skin both directly and indirectly. In this way, the lips can then be injected after the proper care and attention has been given to surrounding muscles, leaving you with natural looking and beautiful lips.

Our aim is for you to leave your consultation feeling confident, fully informed and looking forward to your treatment. Further details on which lip fillers such as Juverdem Volift and Teosyal RHA are used and why are discussed in this article.

How long will the Lip Filler last for?

Lip fillers typically last between 9-12 months, but this can vary depending on several factors including the volume of filler injected. Lifestyle factors, such as smoking or sun exposure, can also affect how long the results last as well as how quickly your body breaks down the filler. To learn more about the techniques and fillers used, please visit our lip augmentation article here.

Lip Filler side effects

After treatment your lips will feel tender and sore for the first couple of days and you may have the sensation of something in your lips. These side effects are of course temporary and only last a few days at most.

Other potential side effects include bleeding from the injection sites immediately after the procedure along with some associated redness. If you have a history of cold sores (herpes simplex virus) there is a chance of reactivation on or around the lips. To prevent any of these symptoms, simply ask Dr Fern Jean-Joseph and she will supply you with the necessary medication.

More serious but rare side effects include:

  • Swelling and bruising lasting longer than normal, around 7-10 days
  • Uneven lip shape
  • Infection
  • Scarring
  • Allergic reaction – this is exceptionally unlikely if you have had the same lip filler in the past

When can I return to work?

As the procedure is minimally invasive, many clients choose to fleetingly drop by during their lunch hour. You are fit to return to work that very same day if you so wish and you may resume activities as normal from the moment you leave the clinic, unless told otherwise. To further discuss Lip Fillers at The London Facial Care, call us or book an appointment today.

How do you achieve a natural effect?

During your consultation Dr Fern Jean-Joseph will discuss the best plan for you in order to achieve subtle effects. We work like artists, using the natural contours of your face for guidance. Your normal facial expressions will remain unaffected and your lips will be fuller and more sensual whilst retaining a natural appearance.

Careful, subtle work is best done over a few sessions so that the effect can build up slowly. This work of enhancement is tailored to each patient’s individual contours and face to bring the best results for you and your lips.

Lip Filler Safety

At The London Facial Care every client seeking injectable treatments with lip fillers is given an in-depth consultation that examines motivation and expectations. We have the highest level of regulation in the industry, exceeding all recommended guidelines and requirements. Our clinic rooms are safe, medical environments in a CQC registered practice with your treatment carried out only by Dr Fern Jean-Joseph.

What happens if I don’t like the look?

During your consultation a great amount of time will be spent discussing your expectations so there shouldn’t be any surprise following treatment. However, if you are not happy with the results, we can administer a solution called hyaluronidase that dissolves the lip filler quickly, leaving no lasting damage or effect.

Hyaluronidase is a natural product found in our bodies, although the solution used is derived from animal products. You should see an improvement in shape and filling within a few short hours with no possible side effects on your own body’s tissue.

Lip Filler Pricing

Lip fillers are injected into the lip in the form of a vial. A vial is a measurement of the anti-wrinkle injectable liquid administered during treatment, and typically a treatment for lips requires 1 – 2 vials depending on your preference.

Each vial costs £350.

Is there a minimum age for lip fillers?

At The London Facial Care due to ethical reasons we do have age limit policies with our injectable treatments. Due to the natural development of the face and muscles we have made the decision not to provide dermal or lip fillers to anyone below the age of 18.
